Coldpress Juices

I love smoothies for breakfast. I would say I have smoothies for breakfast probably three or four times a week. The only reason why I miss out on smoothies the other days of the week is one of a few reasons; I’ve woken up late, I’m too lazy or I’m too hungover to remove myself from the sofa to the kitchen to wiz something up in my nutribullet. Now I know there isn’t going to be a smoothie take-away that deliveries to your front door in 20 minutes or less anytime soon… Plus I like my smoothies to be all natural, no added nastiness. Just all the good stuff. That’s why I was so happy when I discovered ColdPress Juices.

First a little bit about ColdPress Juices. I had never heard of the term Cold pressed, however the ColdPress Juice Website happily summed it up for me, simply;

A great deal has changed since the 1950s and mainly for the better.

But while the gas guzzlers of the past might have been replaced by smarter, cleaner hybrids, the fruit juice we top up our own personal tanks with is, by and large, still made by the archaic, inefficient and distinctly unsatisfactory process we used back then.

Amazingly, fruit juice manufacturers are still using a pasteurisation process that, through heating, casts much of the fruit’s nutritional goodness into the ether.

Which is why, in 2006, Andrew, our founder, and Bradley, our technical whizz, transformed the Australian juice market by pioneering cold pressed technology that could naturally retain more taste, more nutrients and vitamins than pasteurised juices before introducing their distinctive hexagonal bottles to the UK in 2011.

Since then, ironically, the sleeping giants of the juice industry have finally begun to…ahem…warm to the benefits of cold pressure themselves!

To find out more about ColdPress Juice do their thang… What is Coldpress?

Coldpress Juices were kind enough to send me a selection of their juices & honestly I was so impressed (I mean seriously guys, if you get that 20 minute delivery thing going, I think this could be the BEST thing!). They sent me 7 different smoothies, one for each day so my nutribullet truly had a little holiday.

Pumpkin Power Juice

Monday morning, I had had five days off work, I love my job, but that 6am alarm was something I didn’t want to hear. Repeatedly hitting snooze meant was okay because I had my Coldpress Juices in the fridge. When it was time to pick one, I went for Pumpkin Power, the bright orange colour was exactly what I needed to brighten up my day. Plus it sounded tasty yet super healthy.

Filled with so many veggies & it was seriously tasty, it didn’t tasty vegetabley, it also wasn’t sickly sweet. It was just what I needed for my Monday morning. Most of you that read my blog & follow me know my pants IBS history. This juice has ginger in it, I find having ginger really sets me up on the right path in the morning, plus I love the taste of ginger. So Pumpkin Power was perfect!

Strawberry & Banana Smoothie

Tuesday’s are my least favourite day, so I wanted to treat myself with my smoothie today, something to soften the blow of this pants day. This Strawberry & Banana Smoothie is packed full of goodness. It’s not just Banana & Strawberry in here, it also has Apple, Carrot & Lime juice. So it has plenty of goodness in there. It is thick & smooth, just like a smoothie should be.

It tastes fresh & fruity, because of the Banana it was also very filling & with my breakfast I was full until lunch time.

Juicy Roots Juice

Wednesday is Hump Day, there is light at the end of the tunnel kind of day. The Juice I had today was Juicy Roots Juice, something I thought could boost me through the hump day until the end of the week. This one contained Carrot & Beetroot, which explains the amazing deep colour!

This one smelt like beetroot, & I’ll be honest it kind of scared me a little. I love beetroot, but I wasn’t sure how I felt about drinking it, however I was super wrong, it tasted amazing. Fresh & sweet, however not as sweet as some of the smoothies, so it made the perfect juice.

Mean Greens Juice

Thursday I treated myself to something a little more healthy looking. Mean Greens Juice  is amazing! Packed with Pear, Spinach, Cucumber, Lemon, this one  will get anyone off to a good start.

It’s thicker than a juice but not as creamy as a smoothie, and yes, I agree, some about green liquid isn’t always the most appealing thing to the eye. However I have this overwhelming feeling that I know if it’s green it’s going to be good for my body. This one smells earthy, but thanks to the pear & lemon it sure doesn’t taste it. It’s a little sweet & packed full of yummy flavour. Perfect for a green juice lover!

Banana & Raw Cacao Almond Drink

Friday is treat day right? It’s Friday, or FriYAY as I like to call it! So I knew I wanted to keep this Banana & Raw Cacao Almond Drink for a Friday chocolatey treat!

This one was not as sweet as I expected it to be, it was is closer to a dark chocolate taste than a sweet one in my opinion. Which I was more than happy with as I love dark chocolate. The banana made it smooth tasting & filling, while the almond taste was subtle but yummy! It was great to have a Friday treat without it being naughty.

Pink Lady Apple Juice

Saturday, I have never been quite so hungover! So I was saving my Pink Lady Apple Juice for Saturday. I knew it would be easy to drink & would set me straight & demolish my hangover.

I didn’t have breakfast until midday & when I did it wasn’t much of a Breakfast, however this crisp tasting apple juice made it much better. It’s sweet but not over powering & so appley! I really enjoyed it, I love apple juice & it is always my juice of choice & I think this one might be a new favourite. If only I could get it in a 1 litre carton.

Coconut, Pineapple & Banana Smoothie

Back to work Monday, so I thought I would keep the coconut one for then. Something to look forward to! Everyone knows I love Coconut, so I knew I was going to love this Coconut, Pineapple & Banana Smoothie. Plus banana is a staple in my diet & life in general making this perfect in my opinion!

This one is so tropical tasting! I really liked it. It’s smoothie, thick & filling just like a smoothie should be. It’s sunshine taste is more than enough to please anyone’s taste buds! You would think because it’s packed with so much fruit it might be too sweet, but it really isn’t. It’s just right!

I wasn’t disappointed with any of my ColdPress Juices. Plus they look pretty funky & their packaging is full of healthy information, which I loved reading while I was tucking into my breakfast! Until they invent their smoothie delivery service you can pick these up in Waitrose, Ocado, Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Co-op, Budgens & Booths. They are priced at about £2.80 which I think is very reasonable! I look forward to filling up my trolley with them up next time I am out shopping.

Disclosure
The lovely people at ColdPress Juices sent me seven of their juices & smoothies to test & try. I only write about companies & products I like & all the opinions are my own.

  1. I’ve seen these around, I think I’d better pick one up and give it a try next time I see them, especially the Banana & Raw Cacao Almond Drink and the Pumpkin Power Juice – I can never say no to ginger!
