Choc Shot Review

Everyone loves Chocolate. When people say ‘I’m not really a chocolate person’ I like to picture them in my head, late on a Sunday, lights dimmed, guilt in their eyes as they rummage around the kitchen for a sweet cocoa hit. Then I say to them, with a smile; ‘sure you’re not’… But that situation fits them so well! We may not all be chocolate fiends, like me, a chocolate addicted. However we all have our own favourites, weather it’s a solid bar, chocolate biscuits, nougat cover in chocolate, hot chocolate, chocolate chip cookie, chocolate ice cream or milk chocolate drink. We are a society obsessed with the sweet stuff. So what’s the big deal? When you can get healthy alternatives of Chocolate, all in moderation of course. Surely we should be allowed to take a walk on the wild side every now & again. Thanks to Sweet Freedom Choc Shots, I can take that walk a little more often.

To bring healthier sweetness and chocolatey goodness to the world (and our own kitchens) by creating a lower calorie, low GI and GL natural products that taste naughtier than they are – naturally.
Sweet Freedom were kind enough to send me their Choc Shot Original, Choc Shot Orange Spice, Choc Shot Coconut & Fruit Syrup. When I first saw the chocolate sauce, I noticed it was so much darker than other sauces. However it doesn’t taste like dark chocolate. It rich, but not sickly. The smell is wonderful & the taste is even better. It luxury liquid chocolate. I could squeeze it straight into my mouth!
What I love about these products, well they are just so versatile! This liquid chocolate makes a great cup of hot chocolate.

I love it with pancakes or waffles. Perfect for weekend special breakfasts & it’s my go to for Pancake day too!
It goes great in porridge. I use it instead of peanut butter, when I was my oats to be a little more chocolatey!
I have even used it in baking. I have used the Fruit Syrup in my famous Banana Bread

I also have mixed it with yogurt & puree banana, freezing it to make chocolate pudding.
I’m honestly not over exaggerating when I say this can be used in so many different & wonderful ways!
It comes in a squeeze bottle, which makes it very easy to use. It is 100% natural & sweetened with fruit sweetness. No chemical processing, additives, preservatives.
GMO’s free, gluten free, dairy free, soya free, eggs free, nut free & refined sugar free. For those on a diet it’s great to hear it’s 95% fat free, all low in calories (Original; 14 kcal, orange; 14 kcal, Coconut; 14 kcal, Fruit Syrup; 13 kcal).
The three varieties of chocolates make great hot chocolates & is perfect for breakfast, with porridge, waffles, pancakes or toast. I really like the Coconut one (because I love all things coconut) as my loyal readers will know I’m not a massive fan of Orange Chocolate, it is the same with this. It’s really nice, just not for me, however my boyfriend on the other hand loves it, because he loves chocolate & orange combination.
The fruit syrup is an amazing substitute for honey. I go through this one very quickly as I think it’s the most versatile. It works amazing in baking & I love it on toast. I honestly can’t get over how sweet it is, without being sickly, but still being natural & low in calories. This stuff is magic!
Sweet Freedom Choc Shots & Fruit Syrups are priced between £3.45 & £3.50. They are available in Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsburys, Waitrose, Ocado, Holland & Barrett & Boots. £3.50 might seem steep, however it’s so rich that you often don’t need a lot for it to do the job. So it really lasts. Plus it tastes like luxury liquid chocolate, & sometimes it’s worth paying a little extra for good quality products. I highly recommend these!
