Cauli Rice Review

A couple of weeks ago I was surfing the web & I came across something I hadn’t seen before. Cauli Rice. As I often make my own Cauliflower Rice I was intrigued by this new product. I contacted the wonderful people at Cauli Rice & within a few days I has received one of each of their goodies.

First off… Why Cauliflower? Why not ask the Cauliperts (Like experts, but just in Cauliflower… Get it?… Never mind…)  Cauliflower (and Cauli Rice) is one of the best kept health secrets around. Your humble Cauli, in fact, is rich in immune-boosting Antioxidants, Vitamin C and Sulphur (for those wishing to detox). It is Low-GI (Glycemic Index), which means it’s great for diabetics trying to avoid blood sugar spikes. We just thought you should know.

Cauliflower is LOW GI, so it releases sugars slowly so keeps you ticking through the day for longer. This stops your blood sugars going crazy throughout the day, leading to crazing sugary treats. This in turn helps maintain a health weight.

It’s much healthy than the food Cauli Rice replaces on your plate, such as white rice, pasta & potatoes. It is also packed full of vitamin C.

These facts are all taken from their Caulireview!

So let’s get down to business. Ricey business… I have been having homemade caulirice & caulicous for quite sometime now. I love it as an alternative to rice when I want something not quite as stodgy. Or if I now I need to carb up I’ll often mix it up. Making Carrot, Beetroot, Courgette or Cauliflower into rice, then mixing it with rice to get a half & half kind of feel. However when you’re in a rush, or at work, or even going to a festival rice, home made caulirice & caulicous or half & half rice isn’t always an option. If you are anything like me you hate the nasty prepack 2 minute cook rice, like Uncle Bens or even the dried versions when they come with flavourings & need to be cooked for 15 minutes. Both of these in my opinion are gross. Not only that but they are packed full of junk & additives. No thanks!

However now I will always have something safe in my cupboard for those days when I just haven’t got time or it’s just not an option. Cauli Rice is the first long life, ready-made Cauliflower Rice. With up to 75% fewer Calories than rice, it is Vegan, Gluten-free and Preservative-free.

All are super easy to make, pop them in the microwave for a couple of minutes & they done!

It’s honestly just Cauliflower & it tastes amazing. As it’s original it goes well with any dish, compliments any flavour, exactly the same as what white rice does. The texture & constancy is great. I’m a big fan!

Obviously this has more added ingredients than the original, but they are all natural & vegetabley! So it’s still okay in my books. This was the first one I tried & I think it might be my favourite. It’s extremely flavoursome with the tiniest kick of spice which was a gorgeous side dish to my dinner.

This one ended up being my favourite, but that will be because of my love for Lemongrass & any Asian style food. This one goes great with Thai Curries as well as a plain dish to give a little flavour to it. I certainly be buying this one again!

The final one I tried out of the four. This one is equally as amazing as the others. Really tasty & full of flavour, great Indian taste & the Coriander taste is fresh & not artificial.

Parcooked Cauliflower (93.7%), Dried Onion (powder) (2.3%), Dried Sultanas (1%), Vegetable Ghee, Cumin (powder), Coriander Seed (powder), Garlic (powder), Ginger (powder), Turmeric, Salt

With a great saying like Get #CauliPower with Cauliflower rice I can honestly say I love this stuff. I took it to a festival with me this summer & heated it in a pan & it was amazing. I have a couple of packs in my desk draw at work & a couple in the cupboard at home. It’s a great price, selling between £1.50 -£2.00 & it is sold in all the major supermarkets.
