There is one snack bar I just can’t get enough of! For you guys that read my blog on a regular basis, or follow my food ventures on Instagram or Twitter you’ll know this Bar is a constant recurrence. My Perk!er Bar Review a couple of months back looked at their 4 bars; Quinoa Bar Cashew, Chia & Pumpkin Seed, Quinoa Bar Goji & Cranberry, Sprouted Oaty Cranberry & Cashew Bar & Quinoa Bar Cacao & Cashew. Now there is a new Perk!er bar in town! I found out about this little beaut at The Just V & Allergy Show (Just V & Allergy Free From Show Write Up!). This bar is like it was made for me; it’s a Coconut & Chia Bar… Oh happy days!
This news dropped Friday of the Just V & Allergy Free From Show, I saw it on Instagram & pretty much wet myself with excitement. I was such a happy bunny. On Saturday, the day I had off to venture around the show, the Perk!er stand was top of my list for stores I needed to visit. Annoying, it was the last one I crossed off my list as we started on the opposite side of the hall.
When I found Ann & her husband Steve the stand was jam packed as always, because people other than me love their product! I made my way straight to a sample of the Coconut & Chia bar, as soon as I tasted it I knew I was hooked.
focused on packing in the goodness .. with delicious whole foods. Like their other bars, this one does just that! It tastes amazing & is still packed with the good stuff.
This one is a Quinoa based bar, like three out of the four of their others. It’s packed with Coconut, Cashews (which are my favourite nut!) & Chia Seeds. This combination makes the texture great, soft & chewy, with great flakes of Coconut Chips & Cashews. Just like the others it is Gluten Free, Wheat Free, Dairy Free & Vegan. The taste is gorgeous. The Coconut flavour is wonderfully creamy & the Cashew gives the bar a great nutty flavour, but doesn’t over power the Coconut. The combination really goes well together.
I have at least a couple of these bars a week as a post lunch treat. In this warm weather I have also been popping them in the freezer for a couple of hours & having them cold, they still remain really chewy & tasty. A trick I used to do with cookies as a child.
I haven’t found these bars in the supermarket yet, but I’m sure we won’t be waiting long. All there bars are priced at £0.75 for one or £1.80 for 3. I think this is a normal price for bars, but these bars are packed with Quinoa. Which is an expensive ingredient, so it is a great price in my opinion.
I was given a few of these wonderful Bars from the Perk!er Couple. I only write about companies & products I like & all the opinions are my own.
