Aduna Review

Aduna Review

Everyone loves super stuff at the moment, weather it is Super Grains, Super Protein, Super Milk or even Super Heros. Well two Super Heros, Andrew Hunt & Nick Salter are the co-founder to a wonderful bunch of products of Super Powders that aren’t just super good for us to consume, they’re also super good for the producers in Africa.

… Aduna is an Africa-inspired health & beauty brand and social business. Our mission is to create demand for under-utilised natural products from small-scale producers in rural Africa…

…What if there was a brand which could bring the benefits of these unique and remarkable natural products to consumers at the same time as making a direct contribution to the millions of small-scale producers who cultivate them? A brand which could express the positivity and vibrancy of Africa, for so long obscured from consumers by the world’s clichéd coverage of the continent.

Aduna is an Africa-inspired health & beauty brand and social business. Our mission is to create demand for under-utilised natural products from small-scale producers in rural Africa.

Aduna were kind enough to send me their Aduna Baobab ‘The Feel Good Fruit’ & their Aduna Moringa ‘Miracle Tree’ to try out. I was so excited when my parcel arrived.

Aduna Baobab Superfruit Powder

The powder is rich with Vitamin C, fibre & antioxidants. It is made from a fruit which dries naturally on the branch, meaning it is 100% raw & natural & free from additives, preservatives & added sugar. Aduna believe a single serving a day helps immune function, energy release & skin health. Per gram t had over twice the antioxidants of goji berries & more than blueberries & pomegranates combined.

I have added this powder to Smoothies, Yogurt & Granola Breakfasts, Banana Bread & it could easily be added to a lot more things, including other home baked goodies, cereals, protein shakes & desserts. I love the taste it adds & since I have been using it I have notice  my skins health improving, I have never been that spotty, however since having a couple of spoonful’s of this a week my skin is clearer & brighter.

Yog & Granola

Aduna Moringa Superleaf Powder

This powder is one of the most nutrient-dense food products going. Similar to it’s Fruity Sister it is naturally dried leaf so is 100% raw & natural & free from additives, preservatives & added sugar. This powder is packed with goodness. 25% protein, all 9 amino acids, 31% fibre, 6 essential vitamins & minerals (Iron, Calcium, Magnesium, Vitamin A, E & K). All these have a range of health benefits from energy release, immune function, healthy skin, stronger teeth & bones, protection of cells from oxidative stress, normal blood clotting & digestive health. It’s never ending goodness. To top it off it’s even higher in antioxidants than it’s Fruity Sister. It has six times the antioxidant content of goji berries & more antioxidants than green tea, blueberries, acai & pomegranates.

When I first saw this product I thought, oh no, more spirulina. I was slightly anxious to use it at first. So I decided to add it too a smoothie to hide the taste. I could taste it at all. I dabbed a little on my finger to try it straight. To my surprise there was no unpleasant taste. Since then I have purchased my very own tube. I have added it to soups, sprinkled it on salads, & added it to meals such as Spaghetti Bolognese & Stews.

The reason why  I purchased this one over the Baobab Superfruit Powder isn’t because I think it’s better, both products are amazing! However the Moringa Superleaf Powder has also brightened my skin, but I have terrible IBS, I have since found having a spoonful of this a day has helped me ridiculously. Last week I had terrible IBS pains & had to take time off work, since then I have come to the conclusion that Garlic is now one of the many foods that gives my stomach the achy pains. As soon as I started to feel the bloaty pains I doubled my intake of Aduna Moringa Superleaf Powder, of course it didn’t cure me, that would be a Super Hero kind of powder, but it helped more than anything I’ve ever had before. My stomach felt more at ease & I didn’t suffer for as long. The only change in my usual IBS emergency ritual was the added Super Powder.

Aduna Baobab Superfruit Powder £7.99 for 80g, £13.99 for 170g or £14.99 for 275g.

Aduna Moringa Superleaf Powder £7.99 for 100g, £13.99 for 200g or £14.99 for 275g.

Both come in 45g bars for £1.89 – which I am looking forward to trying eventually.

Overall this product is great & I honestly am a user for life. You may think that these are a little pricy, but compared to other powders I’ve seen on the market they are a great price, completely natural, very good for you & good for the producers in Africa. Plus a teaspoon a day means they last for ages. I highly recommend these.

I was sent these lovely goodies by the wonderful people at Aduna, I only write about companies & products I like & all the opinions are my own.
