I love making my own pasta sauces, but sometimes I just don’t have the time. That’s when I heard about Sacla. Not only do they make gorgeous sauces to make your dinner taste wonderful. They also have a fantastic range of Antipasti, as well as really tasty pastes to give a little kick to your meal.
It started with an abundance of fresh seasonal ingredients and our founding grandparents’ love for their great Italian food.
Sacla is a family owned business, from what I have read it is a lovely company & it is wonderful to see how much they value family. It’s something that I see more & more in today’s society. Family not sitting down for dinner time together. I know sometimes it can be hard. However you can always make time for the people you love. My partner & I have a proper home cooked dinner together at least 5 times a week, often we have friends or family over too. It makes the eating experience much more worthwhile.
This family passion is everything that’s at the heart of our philosophy and culture. Family is so important to us, as Lorenzo, son of Secondo and Piera Ercole suggests. “The nucleus of Italian society is the family – the family unit is what created Italy. For us, the sense of family within the business creates a passion, endurance, a feeling of belonging, drive and energy.”
Anyway, enough ranting about home cooked meals & spending time with family. Let me rant about Sacla! My friend introduced me to them a few months ago, he made me a meal using one of the sauces. I thought it was so tasty. I needed to look into this more.
When my Sacla parcel arrived I was so pleased to see they had such a wide & tasty sounding selection & as I was soon to find out, not only did they sound tasty, they were tasty.
The sauces are all rich in gorgeous Italian flavours, I made various things from Pasta Bakes, Spaghetti & Fauxballs to Sausage & Pasta Casselette . Great to suit any type of taste buds, the Creamy Tomato & basil sauce is great for kids, as it’s super yummy with such a great subtle creamy flavour. My favour is the Cherry Tomato & Basil, mainly because of the whole tomatoes, it was just that little bit extra that made it exciting.
They also have a range of different Pesto, since turning Vegan I haven’t been able to find a pesto I truly like. My search is over. I was lucky enough to try the Char-Grilled Aubergine Pesto, it was a little different from your standard pesto & it made my dishes so delicious. However I don’t want to knock their standard Classic Basil Pesto. This was gorgeous & honestly when it comes to buying Pesto sauces from now on, I’ll always be going for Sacla.
Finally they also sent me their four different Antipasti Jars. Oven Roasted Tomatoes in Chilli Infused Oil, Sun-Dried Tomatoes in Herb Infused Oil, Artichokes in Lemon & Rosemary Infused Oil & Trio of Roasted Pepper. Now, I’ll be honest with you, I’m not well versed in Antipasti type foods, but in my opinion these were amazing. I loved adding the Tomatoes as garnishes to complete a recipe. They all tasted great in salads & I used most of the Artichokes in a summer Paella dish which was so yummy!
Overall I loved Sacla, they are a healthy alternative to crappy pasta sauce, that of course I won’t name & shame. They do not taste artificial, they taste so fresh & the flavours are exciting, I like how they do standard run of the mill flavours to exciting new sauces like the Char-Grilled Aubergine Pesto.
I now always have a jar or two of Sacla in my cupboard for when I don’t have time to make me own sauce. I’m stocked up on Sun-Dried Tomatoes & Roasted Peppers to spice up my Salad. My favourite find, the paste is always there, especially the Tomato & Chilli one, it’s so tasty I can’t resist adding it to my pot when I’m cooking.
I have made a few recipes using Sacla Jars, which I thought I would share. They have their own section on my homepage, please check it out.
I was sent the goodies by Sacla to try, I only write about companies & products I like & all the opinions are my own.
