Healthy Fruit, Nut, Seed bars are EVERYWHERE these days. They pretty much took a step forward when the Chocolate Bar ban at till points was put in. The thing is there are so many bars out there now, how do you know which one to choose. Well I can help you. I have my favourites. A select few that I always go for & one of them is Perk!er!
Perk!er might even be my favourite… They are great. I first tried them as a sample at one of the many VegFest I have attended & I was hooked! Then I saw them in Morrisons & I was super chuffed. The wonderful people (& they are wonderful as I have met them a few times) people at Perk!er gave me a few of their goodies to taste & talk about.
Their about me on their website is lovely, honest & quite heart warming;
We passionately search out the best quality, nutritious ingredients and set ourselves the challenge to create delicious breakfasts and snacks to eat every day… it’s a fab job!
Our range of naturally delicious breakfasts and snacks are bursting with nutritious energy, packed with the goodness of whole foods, and abundant with nutrients your body needs to thrive, each and every day.
When Steve and I first started out we were all about gluten free and created some more indulgent snacks.. but now we’re 100% focused on packing in the goodness .. with delicious whole foods.
They have hit the nail on the head if you ask me, all the goodness & still all of the yummy taste. Being Gluten-Free you tend to find some foods either all taste the same, a little cardboardy, you know what I mean? Perk!er Bars are so tasty & I’m chuffed to be getting some more of that good stuff inside of me.
They have 4 different favour bars. Crafted with care. Packed with goodness. My favourite one was the Cacao & Cashew Quinoa Bar, however I’m very flippant & I change my mind like the weather & I now can’t stop eating the Cashew, Chia & Pumpkin Seed Quinoa Bar. However they are all amazingly delicious, I’d happily stuff my face with all of them!
3 out of the 4 bars are Quinoa based, I love Quinoa, so I thought this would be a good time to share why it’s so good for you. Firstly its a wheat-free alternative to starchy grains that is grown in South America. It has twice the protein content of rice or barley. It’s a good source of calcium, magnesium and manganese & has good levels of several B vitamins, vitamin E and dietary fibre. So Quinoa is pretty much amazing, in fact it’s probably the best thing ever & Perk!er have them in their bars!
The bars are also packed with nuts, chia seeds, seeds, dried fruits, berries, buckwheat. & one even has a little Cacao in it for a Friday treat. You would be silly to think these aren’t a great health snack.
These bars are priced at £0.75 for one or £1.80 for 3. Which is an average price for a bar these days, however you have to remember that Quinoa (I know I don’t shut up about this stuff!) is pretty expensive, so I think it’s a really good price for a bar of yum!
If you haven’t tried these bars of deliciousness I highly recommend you do! As for me, I have one most days after lunch & I’m addicted!
